It’s time to stop looking for your next zombie game and turn your attention to the aliens coming at you! The release date for “Season Zero” of The Anacrusis has been announced in Stray Bombay’s latest devlog. Of course, this release date is for the early access version of the game, but it will be coming to PC via Steam and Epic Games, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S, with the inclusion of being on the Xbox Game Pass.
This four-player cooperative first-person shooter is a ‘60s themed groove fest of action! Players will explore The Isolode, a massive stranded luxury starship teeming with aliens. Survive waves of enemies using an arsenal of vintage sci-fi inspired weapons, quirky offensive gear, and discovered perks as the game’s advanced Director 2.0 throws challenges your way based on your play.
Probably the reason this game gives off a Back 4 Blood feel to it is because the co-founder of Stray Bombay, Chet Faliszek, was a lead developer on Left 4 Dead. In fact, when talking about this new game, he stated, “We've built a core game that we're really thrilled to share with the community. The Director 2.0 is able to push players of all skill levels to their limits, universal crossplay lets people play with their friends on all platforms, and Game Pass lets us reach a much larger audience than we could otherwise.”
The early access build of the game will include the first act of the story, the first batch of alien enemies, and a wide selection of guns, gear, and perks players will need to survive. And the action will be available starting January 13, 2022 - literally the start of the year! What do you think about The Anacrusis build of an alien swarm to fight off?
