In lieu of the delays that have led Forspoken to launch in 2023, Square Enix and Luminous Productions have been giving players as much insight into the game as they can without spoiling the title. A couple of months ago we got an interesting 10-minute gameplay video and now they are releasing the first of a three-part deep dive video series on the game.
The first video in the series, Forspoken Deep Dive | Magic Parkour, focuses on protagonist Frey Holland’s magic-enhanced parkour and traversal skills, as well as the variety of spells at her disposal giving players a taste of what to expect. With it only being three minutes long, it is definitely worth a quick watch for anybody looking forward to playing Forspoken when it drops next year! You can click here to watch.
The next video in the series, Forspoken – Deep Dive | Magic Combat, releases on November 3rd, and will dive into the fundamentals of Frey’s magical combat skills. Discover more about the types of magic, attacks, and upgrades players can unlock to help Frey battle the wide variety of enemies she’ll encounter throughout her journey. The final video, Forspoken – Deep Dive | Exploring Athia, releases on November 10th, and will showcase quests, challenges, and various activities that players can find and accomplish across the world of Athia.
Forspoken is officially set for release on January 24, 2023, for PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store. This title is being developed with a focus on the PS5, so it will harness the full power of the console.
Interested players can also pre-order the game now either digitally or physically for PlayStation 5. Those who are going with the digital option can also consider the Digital Deluxe Edition which includes a Digital Mini Artbook, Digital Mini Soundtrack, Prequel Story DLC ‘Forspoken: In Tanta We Trust’ (set to release in Summer 2023), and a Rare Resource Kit.
