Starting your adventure in Digimon Story: Time Stranger and want to snag a Garurumon early? You’re in luck—I’ll walk you through how to get one as quickly as possible, and even how to push it further into WereGarurumon.
How do you Digivolve a Garurumon?
There are multiple routes to unlocking Garurumon, like Lunamon or Tapirmon, but the most common and iconic is through Gabumon. Here’s the breakdown:
Step 1: Start with Punimon or Tsunomon
If you find Punimon early, that’s a head start! Otherwise, aim for Tsunomon. Don’t worry if you’re short on encounters—you can:
Convert a Goblinmon, then De-Digivolve it to Tsunomon.
Or De-Digivolve a Nyaromon → Punimon → Tsunomon.
Step 2: Digivolve into Gabumon
To unlock Gabumon from Tsunomon, you’ll need: 230+ Max SP, and 250+ ATK
Once those stats are met, boom—you’ve got yourself a Gabumon!
Step 3: Digivolve into Garurumon
After unlocking Gabumon, the next step is evolving into Garurumon. Here’s what to do:
Reach Agent Rank 3.
Keep pushing the main story until Side Missions open up. Side Missions give you Anomaly Points, which level up your Agent Skills and raise your rank. Rank 3 doesn’t take too long to achieve.
Meet Garurumon’s requirements.
If you’ve been battling with Gabumon, odds are you’re already close. If not, boost stats with Chip Augments or train in the Digifarm. You’ll need: 300+ DEF, and 400+ SPD
Once these conditions are met—congrats, you’ve unlocked Garurumon!
How to Digivolve Garurumon into WereGarurumon?
If you’re ready to evolve Garurumon into WereGarurumon, you’ll first need to raise your Agent Rank to 5 by progressing further in the main story and taking on plenty of Side Quests for extra Anomaly Points. Once you’ve reached that milestone, it becomes all about training. Chances are, if you’ve been using Garurumon regularly in battle, you’re already well on your way, but some extra stat boosting may still be required. To meet the requirements, Garurumon will need at least 1840 Max HP, 990 ATK, and 1090 SPD. It’s a bit of a grind, but once those conditions are fulfilled, Garurumon will Digivolve into WereGarurumon, the first silhouette on its evolution line.
That’s the full path from Punimon → Tsunomon → Gabumon → Garurumon → WereGarurumon. It’s a bit of stat grinding, but nothing too overwhelming if you keep your Digimon in battle and use your farm wisely.
