How to Get Plant Fiber in Hytale

No matter if you’re playing in a private world or a Hytale multiplayer world, your journey likely started by punching every block and trying to pick up as much as you could. What you may or may not have picked up in those first few minutes is an important material called Plant Fiber.

This material is a part of almost every single recipe needed to survive during your introduction to Orbis. Good thing it’s very easy to collect once you understand where it comes from. This is what you need to know to kickstart your adventure and survive past the night.

Where to get Plant Fiber in Hytale

True to its name, Plant Fiber is a material related to plants and some general greenery out in the world. The best way to acquire Plant Fiber is by destroying bushes within the starting zone. Don’t worry about equipping any particular tool or item; whack away with your bare hands or anything else for a chance to see a bundle of Plant Fiber pop out.

Another method for acquiring some is to knock over trees. You could technically just hit all the leaves in hopes that Plant Fiber drops down, but Wood is equally worth obtaining. Just know that destroying the abundance of bushes in the initial areas will net you the material much faster.

Most of the early “Crude” recipes only require a couple of Plant Fiber pieces along with some sticks and rubble. It won’t take many to set yourself up with a basic set of tools, a sword, and a bedroll to act as your spawn point.

If you craft a Workbench, you’ll gain access to the two-handed Crude weapons like the Daggers and Battleaxe. Having a Workbench also provides the opportunity to craft a Farmer’s Workbench, which requires 20 Plant Fiber and is a necessary step for setting up a farm in Hytale.

As the earliest set of gear you can craft, they’re arguably too weak to waste Repair Kits on and certainly don’t look as cool as later items made with Cobalt or Thorium. Still, they’re essential for the beginning of your experience and ensuring it starts as smoothly as possible.

Hytale is available now on PC.
