Mini Motorways has driven its way onto the Nintendo Switch in a surprise release earlier today. The road-building sim was originally released last year for PC, and developer Dinosaur Polo Club announced the game’s console debut as part of the Indie World Showcase that aired earlier today. The trailer that revealed the shadow drop shows off some of the game’s systems and charming, minimalist aesthetic while emphasizing the Switch’s mobile capabilities.
Mini Motorways is a road-building game that challenges players to create a bustling metropolis by efficiently designing the city’s roadways. More cars will take to the road as the city grows, forcing players to adapt to emerging needs with upgrades and new road types. The game also features designs that evoke actual cities from around the world. There are also new maps to unlock as players improve their city-planning abilities.
Mini Motorways is available now available for the Nintendo Switch, Apple Arcade, and PC via Steam and macOS. For more on games from the Indie World Showcase, check out our coverage of new gameplay details from Cult Of The Lamb and the surprise release of the rhythm-based looter shooter Soundfall.
