If you’re interested in finishing Pokémon Pokopia and rolling credits, you will have to complete the Team Initiation Challenge. This quest requires you to submit a ton of resources and other items to finish different requests and earn badges. We’ll help you complete the Team Initiation Challenge each step of the way in Pokémon Pokopia.
How to complete the Team Initiation Challenge in Pokémon Pokopia
You will first come across this quest in Withered Wasteland after finding your way to the beach (where the ‘Yawn Up A Storm’ quest also starts) and interacting with the mysterious tower.
Challenge 1
x5 Leppa Berries
This is the easiest challenge. Just headbutt a Leppa Tree and collect five Leppa Berries to move on to the next part. Completing this challenge earns you the Bouldery Badge.
Challenge 2
x10 Beans
x10 Tomatoes
x10 Wheat
You will need to grow or find crops for these three items. Beans and Tomatoes can be found growing on Bleak Beach, while you’ll have to wait until Rocky Ridges to get Wheat. You’ll get the Cascade-like Badge for this challenge.
Challenge 3
Give Lumber to a Pokémon with the Cut ability, like Scyther, to get Lumber. Fluff is dropped by Pokémon like Mareep and Swablu, and you can get Paper by giving a Recycle Pokémon Wastepaper, which is found throughout Sparkling Skylands.
After this third challenge, you’ll get the Thunderish Badge.
Challenge 4
If you give Clay to a Pokémon with the Burn ability, you’ll get Bricks. For Gold Ingots, mine Gold Ore in Rocky Ridges’ caves and smelt it in a Smelting Furnace. Finally, you’ll get the Concrete Mixer that turns Limestone into Concrete by completing the main quest for Sparkling Skylands.
This challenge gets you the Rainbowish Badge.
Challenge 5
x50 Electricity
x10 Crystal Fragments
x5 Tinkagears
To get 50 points of electricity, you’ll need to connect enough generators to the tower using Utility Poles or other electricity connectors. We recommend you build some windmills, furnaces, and waterwheels. There’s even a water spot right by the tower that has room for a waterwheel.
I had at least two waterwheels and three windmills connected by Utility Poles to the tower for this to work. Otherwise, you can get Crystal Fragments from the mines of Rocky Ridges by breaking the large, blue crystals.
To get Tinkagears, give Iron Ingots to Tinkmaster and wait for her to turn them into Tinkagears. After this tough challenge, you’ll get the Soul-like Badge.
Challenge 6
x4 Industrial Beds
x4 Resort Lights
x4 Office Desks
As long as you have recipes for this furniture, you should be able to get these items easily. You can find recipes by opening Poke Balls throughout the world, and you can find these items in the wild. After submitting these items, you’ll get the Marshy Badge.
Challenge 7
x1 Washing Machine
x1 Refrigerator
x1 Game Boy System
The seventh challenge also requires you to find these items in the wild or you craft them yourself. You can easily unlock the recipes for these items by raising the Environment Level at least to Level 5 in the regions Bleak Beach, Rocky Ridges, and Sparkling Skylands.
Not only that, but completing the ‘Raise the Environment Level’ quest in Sparkling Skylands will earn you a Game Boy System for free by speaking to Professor Tangrowth. This challenge will earn you the Volcanoey Badge.
Challenge 8
x1 Your cherished photo
Challenge 8 is the easiest challenge of them all, and all it requires is you handing over your most cherished photo. You can choose any photo from your album, and once that’s done, you will need to give them two Party Poppers.
You get two Party Poppers by completing the ‘Raise the Environment Level’ quest in Withered Wastelands. As long as you haven’t used these items yet and you still have them (you can buy the recipe from the PC if you need them), give them to the tower, and that’s all you have to do!
You can now either complete any final quests, or if you already have, a cutscene will occur, and you will soon after roll credits. Now, you can meet Magnemite and learn Magnet Rise!
