After giving us their first announcement for their 2021 title The Last Friend, Skystone Games has provided a quick look at their 2022 announcements. While they do plan to have a full announcement event in February to really lay out this year’s plans, it is good to see some initial announcements to get things started.
Starting with the bad news, their recently announced game Boundary by Studio Surgical Scalpels is getting delayed. While this space-based FPS game was originally planned to release sometime this year, it is looking like we won’t see this game release until 2023. This decision was made based on the many tests and incredible feedback they’ve received, so at least when it does release, we know it will be ready!
Horror fans, especially those who enjoy Lovecraftian and Cthulu-themed games, have something to look forward as they are aiming to release Underworld Dreams by Drop of Pixel sometime this year on Steam. More specifically, they will be releasing a standalone first chapter for Underworld Dreams called The False King. More details for this announcement will be shared soon!
Silly, co-op-focused game Spacelines from the Far Out by Coffeenauts has an official release date for this year! Despite originally planning to release near the end of 2021, the developers are looking to wrap up the work for the game in the new couple of months and release this game on both PC via Steam and Xbox family consoles. You can head over and try out their free demo now, if you didn’t during the last Xbox demo showcase, while you wait for the game’s release date of May 2, 2022.
These few announcements are definitely a great way for an indie game publisher to start off the year! The game-type mix Skystone Games is looking to provide in 2022 is sure to catch the attention of a diverse group of players. Which announcement here caught your attention most?
