How Long is Valor Mortis?

The developers of the Ghostrunner series have come back with a brand new IP, this time set during the Napoleonic Wars, where you play as a former member of his army who has come back from the dead with supernatural abilities. This first-person Souls-like is quite unlike anything done before, which makes it hard to decipher its length unless you’ve played it yourself. Luckily, we’ve played it, so we’ll tell you how long it’ll take you to beat Valor Mortis.

How long does it take to beat Valor Mortis?

A typical Valor Mortis playthrough should take you around 15 hours to complete. If you rush the game and ignore all side quests, you could speed-run it in around 12-13 hours, but if you like to take your time and do everything the game has to offer, you’re probably spending closer to 17-18 hours.

Valor Mortis has a linear main quest, but its levels contain some Metroidvania elements. As you unlock more abilities throughout the game, you’ll be able to return to past levels and unlock side paths that were previously blocked. Seeing as there are also plenty of side quests you’ll come across during your journey, it’s safe to say that you can spend a lot of time in Valor Mortis.

Still, you can easily bypass the side stuff and push through boss fights if you’re really good at Souls-likes. You’ll most likely die a few times along the way, which could shave a few hours off your completion time.

Our Valor Mortis run took about 15 hours, which is a pretty average time if you’re playing the game at a normal pace. It’s a decent chunk of time for a single-player experience, especially during a busy time when games like Gears of War: E-Day and Silent Hill: Townfall are also available.

Valor Mortis is available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
