Once you make it to the Village Church lantern in Valor Mortis, you may stumble across a side path that grants you the Sleeping Beauty quest. You can obtain this quest by passing the sniper and large creature, then ducking under a boarded-up area to your right. Once you pick up the paper by the tree, you’ll learn of a woman who was put to sleep with a spinning needle, but you don’t know how to get inside. We’ll help you finish the Sleeping Beauty quest.
Sleeping Beauty side quest guide in Valor Mortis
Starting from the tree that you picked up the quest from, head carefully along the path so as not to fall into the poisonous swamp. Follow the wooden path that leads to the house where the father is keeping the key that locked his daughter inside.
Keep some bullets on you, because some flying pests will show up along the way. Shoot them with your pistol before they can hurt you.
Once you’re inside the house, read the paper on the table. In this house is the father, but he’s very hostile and has a bit of a chunky health bar. Prepare to parry his swings, and eventually you’ll take him down and collect the key.
You can now exit the home and make your way back to the locked building. Unlock the door and head upstairs to find the daughter sleeping in the bed. You now have a choice to make after investigating the spinning wheel: wake her up, or let her sleep.
Should you wake her up or let her sleep?
Either choice grants you a small weapon upgrade, so it doesn’t matter too much. We chose to wake her up, which led to us killing her as she became hostile. It may have been the worst fate, but it was an easy kill, and it completed the quest.
You won’t have to kill her if you let her sleep, but she’s no tougher to beat than any other villager. Now that you’re done with this quest, you may want to know more about a similar game like Silent Hill: Townfall.
Valor Mortis is available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
