As important as adventuring (solo or with friends) is in Hytale, it’s practically a rite of passage to build yourself a nice house in a game like this. That includes setting up some appealing rooms, adding a functional door, and putting up windows that let you see the outside world from the safety of your home.
Making windows is surprisingly straightforward compared to similar games. We’re covering everything you need to know about this easy process below.
How to Craft Windows in Hytale
We wouldn’t blame you for thinking of windows as a two-part combination of glass and another material. While that serves true elsewhere, you can throw that idea out the metaphorical window here. There is no way to make glass in Hytale, since the game doesn’t feature any glass materials or blocks.
Windows are instead directly crafted from particular building materials at a Builder’s Workbench. If you don’t have a Builder’s Workbench, you can make one from a regular Workbench with six tree trunks and three stone. Placing a block of wood or certain types of stone at this new crafting table will output a list of items you can make, including windows.
The type of window you produce isn’t one-to-one with the materials you use. Most blocks of Wood will output a Simple Wooden Window, but a Dry Log will produce a Sandswept Window. Marble and Marble Cobble can create a Light Temple Window, but none of the Marble Brick block variants can.
After the windows are crafted, you can place them directly on top of or beneath other blocks. This precise placement means that it’s easier to do so in the default first-person view instead of the third-person view. No worries if you do misplace one – just break it and place it again as you see fit!
