After taking down dozens of bosses throughout the world of Mortal Shell 2, your final test will be facing off against Zmey, the Unbidden. At this point, you’ve already defeated Malborn Offspring, The Monolith, and Orrem. So how difficult can Zmey be? Well, to prepare yourself for the last boss you’ll face before you reach the end credits, here’s how to beat Zmey, the Unbidden, in Mortal Shell 2.
Zmey, the Unbidden boss guide in Mortal Shell 2
To beat Zmey, the Unbidden, in Mortal Shell 2, make sure to bring along one of the two available Summons and use the Burnt Effigy item for Burn mitigation. I only had Genessa available to bring as a Summon for this fight, but it was enough to keep the aggro off of me while I prepped my weapons with status effects like Burn or Stasis.
Zmey is like a large Godzilla in a huge arena; rely on ranged attacks when you’re too far away to hit with your main weapon. But once you get close enough, lock on and get close to the base of this monster to deal damage.
Zmey has a large sword that he’ll often swing downward, which you can easily dodge sideways to avoid. When Zmey jumps to the edge of the arena, he’s likely preparing to blow fire at you. You can outrun this by sprinting sideways.
Eventually, you’ll stagger him at around half health before phase two begins. During this phase, his sword will light with flames and will deal Burn damage to you. Continue to dodge to the side to avoid his downward swings, then rush up to him to deal some damage.
With all that in mind, you should be able to take down Zmey, the Unbidden, without too many issues. Now you can move on to the endgame with a New Game Plus run!
Mortal Shell 2 is available now on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
