It’s that time again where we tackle the onslaught of games that just keep flowing in (with many more reviews in the works!) so for now, dive in and enjoy the latest titles we’ve been playing. We sure appreciate all the devs, publishers, and PR folks behind these games that bust their butts with sometimes very little recognition.
Patapon 1+2 Replay (PS5)
Patapon 1+2 Replay brings back two of the most creative rhythm-strategy hybrids from the PSP era, and they hold up beautifully in 2025. These games are a reminder of a time when developers took more risks, and while they may not be revolutionary by today’s standards, their charm, clever mechanics, and catchy beats make them just as engaging now as they were then. It’s not a complete overhaul, but it's a rock-solid collection that deserves a place in every modern gamer’s library—especially for those who missed it the first time around.
Games like this just don’t come around that often anymore, especially from big name devs. Jump on this op ASAP!
Yakuza 0: Director’s Cut (Switch 2)
Yakuza 0 was already a cult classic, but having the Director’s Cut running at a smooth 60 fps on the Switch 2’s gorgeous screen is pure magic. The story, combat, and bizarre side quests hit just as hard, and while the new content doesn’t reinvent the wheel, it adds enough flavor to make this edition feel special. Whether you're a longtime Yakuza fanatic or a curious newcomer, this portable version is an absolute knockout and a must-play on the go.
Yazuka is such a strange phenomenon but I mean that as the highest compliment. It’s weird AF but also addicting, insane, and just all out fun. The Switch 2 is off to a solid start in a small but growing library!
EA SPORTS College Football 26 (PS5)
College Football 26 may not be a seismic shift for the franchise, but it’s a polished, well-executed entry that delivers where it counts. On PS5, the visuals are breathtaking—from stadium detail to player animations—and gameplay improvements make every match feel tighter and more responsive. It’s a definitive upgrade from the previous game and a great foundation for future entries, making it a worthy pick-up for fans craving that Saturday stadium energy.
You know the drill: If you love football at all, you’ll love this game especially after the long break we had for oh so many years.
