In World of Warcraft: Forever, you can choose to begin your adventure as the new high-elven class: The Skyborne. Known as the “shen’dorei” or “hidden people,” these elves have spent the last thousands of years building a home in Skywall, the Elemental Plane of Air.
Unfortunately, their civilization is beginning to crumble. The air spirits who served as protectors of the Isle have disappeared, and now the Skyborne race has become divided between the High Order and Windshapers. And in World of Warcraft: Forever, you’ll journey from Zephras Isle to Azeroth and decide which side you’re on.
Before you set off to Zephras Isle and beyond, let’s discuss what to expect from the Skyborne classes and racials.
Choose your faction: Alliance (High Order) or Horde (Windshaper)
When creating a Skyborne character, you get to decide who your allegiances lie with: Horde or Alliance. However, note that some options are only available on a specific faction, so you may need to really think about whether it’s worth switching sides for your preferred class and race combo.

Skyborne Druid forms
The exclusive Skyborne Druid forms are vibrant and beautiful, drawing inspiration from the unique creatures found across Zephras Isle. If you’re eager to play a Druid in this new version of World of Warcraft, it’s well worth considering this elven race.
Skyborne racial abilities
As with all classes, Skyborne have access to their own racial abilities, including three that are present across both factions, as well as one faction-exclusive ability.
Shared racials
Walk on Air - Allows your character to glide downward for 10 seconds to avoid fall damage.
Wind Blessed - Provides an inherent 1% increase to melee, ranged, and spellcasting haste.
Elemental Insight - Increases your damage to elemental enemies by 5%.
Exclusive racials
Read Ley Lines - The Alliance, or “High Order” Skyborne, return to Azeroth after the disappearance of the wind spirits in Zephras Isle. With their focus on restoring their arcane knowledge, the High Order elves have the ability Read Ley Lines, which grants them 100% increased health and mana regeneration for a short period.
Skysight - The Horde, or “Windshaper” Skyborne, who seek answers to the disappearance of their elemental protectors, are gifted with a special ability known as Skysight. This is an elemental blessing that increases your run speed by 10% for a short while.
Whether you decide to embrace the tradition of your elemental mentors or reclaim the ancient arcane magic, your journey as a Skyborne awaits you in World of Warcraft: Forever.
