Mask Shards are some of the most important items you can find in Hollow Knight: Silksong, as they can improve your maximum health. Once you collect four shards, you’ll permanently increase your health by one mask.
Finding these Mask Shards won’t be easy, though. They’ll either require you to purchase them with a lot of your Rosaries, or you may need to find them in a hidden room. We’ll help you find all the Mask Shards available so far in Hollow Knight: Silksong.
All Mask Shard locations in Silksong
Mask Shard #1
One of the first Mask Shards you’ll find in Hollow Knight: Silksong is from the merchant in Bone Bottom. You can purchase this Mask Shard for 300 Rosaries.
Mask Shard #2
In the Far Fields, you can find another Mask Shard just north of where you fight Fourth Chorus. The only way to get here is by unlocking the Drifter’s Cloak, so get the Spine Cores for the Seamstress and then, with your new cloak, glide up to the northwestern exit from the room with the Seamstress’s home.
Up there, you’ll find a destructible spot in the floor. Blow it up and you’ll find a pocket with a Mask Shard inside.
Mask Shard #3
You’ll find another Mask Shard in Shellwood. From the room where you learn Cling Grip, go through the bottom left exit. In this room, find the exit just below you on the right wall.
Parkour across the white flowers to the end of the room, break the vines, and continue through until the end. You’ll find a Mask Shard hidden behind some more breakable vines.
Mask Shard #4
This Mask Shard is located in the Deep Docks, right at the border of The Marrow. With your Cling Grip ability, jump up above The Marrow exit that leads into the Deep Docks.
You’ll find yourself in a battle room that throws waves of enemies at you. Once you take them all down, you’ll be able to reach the room on the right that holds a Mask Shard.
Mask Shard #5
There’s a Mask Shard in the Wormways, and there are two ways to go at it. During the early game, you can leave Mosshome and find a large chasm with an elevator that takes you to Bone Bottom. Parkour across the hanging cages (it helps if you have the sprint and glide ability), and then head to the left exit on the other side.
Here, you’ll find a long room with a monster that sprays acid. Don’t worry, just run to the left and ignore him to find a locked door. Open it with a Simple Key you can buy from the vendor at Bone Bottom. Through this room, you can hop down and break the wall to your right to find a Mask Shard.
Instead of going through the locked door, you can also make it to a higher entrance of the Wormways from Shellwood. This avoids having to use the Simple Key here.
Mask Shard #6
Once you make it past The Last Judge and into Act 2, you’ll find another merchant who sells a Mask Shard at Songclave. To unlock this vendor, ring the bell and wait for the environment to change. After you come back, you’ll eventually find a bulletin board here with Wishes to complete.
Accept and complete The Wandering Merchant Wish, which leads you to unlocking Jubilana as a vendor. Upon your next arrival at Songclave, you’ll be able to buy a Mask Shark from Jubilana for 750 Rosaries.
Mask Shard #7
On the western side of Cogwork Core and on the cusp of the Choral Chambers is another Mask Shard. For this one, you’ll have to parkour down the main tower until you find an exit on the left side.
This leads to a battle room with waves of enemies, so defeat them. Take the left path, and you’ll get a Mask Shard.
