Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance is about to turn 10 years old on February 21 (where has the time gone!?) and Platinum Games will be celebrating that day with some new art. The game developer teased on its own Twitter page with a chibi-inspired Raiden from the Metal Gear Series. Fans may think this celebration may lead to a new game announcement, possibly a remake or remaster of the MGR title. However, nothing has been officially announced at the time of this writing.
With the resurgence of Silent Hill over at Konami, it makes sense for their biggest franchise, Metal Gear, to follow suit. There has been a whirlwind of rumors for the Metal Gear series to be receiving its own remake but nothing has been officially announced as of yet. We can only hope that Konami listens to the fans and gives us what we want. Remakes of the entire series!
Quinton Flynn, the voice actor for Raiden, did make a cheeky tweet in a response to a fan in regards to the hopes of a Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance sequel simply saying “Stayed tuned for things to be announced in the coming weeks.” Now, this does not confirm anything, but it is interesting to see what exactly Quinton is referring to. I think most fans would love to have a remaster or even a remake. But a sequel? That would be on another level of hype.
