How to Get Mithril Ore in Hytale

GuidesHytaleby Samuel Moreno

Setting off with the best equipment possible is the dream in Hytale. Smelting batches of Thorium Ore to make new armor feels great, and working your way up to Adamantite is better. But what we all want is Mithril Ore.

The problem is that you’re currently very restricted in how to obtain these Epic rarity materials. It’s not impossible, although it may feel a bit like cheating to some. Here’s everything you need to know about how to unlock Mithril and what you can use it for.

Where to Find Mithril Ore in Hytale

If you and everyone else in your multiplayer world been searching for this elusive resource, tempted by the different Mithril weapon and armor recipes visible on your Workbenches, you can take a break. Mithril Ore is currently only available in a Creative World and cannot be acquired in an Exploration World.

As much content as Hytale has, it’s good to remember that it’s still an early access title. Mithril will surely be added in a future update, but you won’t stumble across it by chance for now. You’ll need to switch over to Creative if you want to enjoy the benefits of Mithril now.

How to get Mithril Ore in Hytale’s Creative Mode

You're free to add Mithril Ore and all its related weapons to your inventory in Creative. If you want to add it to your existing Exploration World, type “/op self“ to give yourself admin permissions. Simply pressing that initial slash key will automatically treat it as typing into console commands. After that’s accepted, type “/gamemode creative” to change into Creative mode.

Press tab to open up your inventory and then type Mithril in the search bar at the top to find all of the available Mithril items in the game files. Not only does this include the Mithril Ore and Ingot forms, but also the blocks it can be mined from and the various gear it can be applied to.

You can basically go through the whole experience of mining and smelting to craft Mithril weapons and armor. The only other issue is that Mithril gear commonly requires Storm Leather to craft. This resource also isn’t available in Exploration yet, although you’re free to add that in Creative.

Type “/gamemode adventure” once you’re ready to change your world back to Exploration. Now you’re free to use up any resources you added or immediately see how you look with the gear in third-person view. Keep in mind that Mithril gear will lose its durability like anything else, albeit slowly. Having Repair Kits handy will be a big help when tackling the strongest enemies Hytale has to offer.

Hytale is available now on PC.
